Abstract:
A new record genus and a new species of Metrodoridae are described. They are Apterotettix Hancock and Apterotettix lativertex sp. nov. Type specimen is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Shaanxi Normal University.Apterotettix lativertex sp. nov.(Fig. a,b,c)This new species is allied to Apterotettix obtusus Hancock,1904, but differs from in:1) width of vertex 1.6 times the width of an eye; 2) antennae inserted between the lower margins of eyes; 3) frontal ridge concaved ahead the eyes in profile; 4) lateral keels slightly contracted back ward in prozona; 5) the lower margin of midfemur straight; 6) outer side of hind tibia with 5 spines; 7) hind tibia light brown.Length of body: ♀ 9 mm; length of pronotum: ♀ 6 mm; length of hind femur: ♀ 4 mm.Holotype ♀, Yunnan: Longlin, 1883 m, 24°31′N, 98° 51′E, 4-sept.-2010, collected by Wu Yu-xi.Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Latin “lati” and “vertex”.
