Abstract:
Glutamine-based gelators, 1-dodecylamino-2-Boc-amino-L-glutamine (DBLN), 1-tetradecyl- amino-2-Boc-amino-L-glutamine (TBLN) and 1-hexadecyl-amino-2-Boc-amino-L-glutamine (HBLN), were simply synthesized through one-step reaction. It was found that DBLN and HBLN could gelate seven among the tested twenty solvents, but TBLN only formed stable gel in four solvents. SEM observation showed that both the structure of the gelators and the property of the solvents affected the morphology of the aerogel, obviously. FTIR spectra revealed that the hydrogen bonding between the amide groups played an important role in gel formation.
