Study on the relationship between terrain fractal feature and potential soil erosion in typical morphologic region of Loess Plateau

Abstract:
Based on geomorphology, fractal theory, geographic information system (GIS) and regression statistics, the relationship between regional landform which quantified by fractal dimension and soil erosion modulus was set up in 12 sample areas of hilly and gully region, Loess Plateau, north Shaanxi province. It was proved that landform fractal dimension can be used as an indicator to predicate the soil erosion degree in typical morphologic region of Loess Plateau.
