Abstract:
Chitosan was modified by acrylamide with ammonium persulfate and sodium sulfite as initiators under the protection of nitrogen. The resulting product, chitosan grafting acrylamide polymer (CAM),was obtained. Application of CAM in treatment of eleceroplating chromium-containing waste water was carried out.The parameters including amount of CAM, treated time, stirring speed and pH were optimized. The optimized results were as follows. A mount of CAM is 2 mg/L,the stirring speed is 200 r/min maintained 3 min, aging time is 4h, pH keeps at 7.8.The removal rate for chromium reaches 94%.
