Abstract:
Based on the zeroth-order resonance theory of the composite right/left-handed transmission line.a new type of low-profile omnidirectional microstrip antenna operating at X-band is presented. From the simulated results, the proposed antenna can omnidirectionally radiate well in a horizontal plane at its operation frequency. The good agreement between the measured return loss and simulated one is obtained. With the characteristics of low-profile and unique radiation manner, the antenna can be used in vehicle-mounted and flight-mounted carriers etc. for communication.
