Abstract:
Basis on the theory of field-emission from metallic tip, the model of electric field in emission of carbon nanotubes (CNT)on metallic wire is established. The catalyst iron particles and carbon atom are introduced onto the substrate by high temperature pyrolysis of FePc. Carbon nanotubes directly grown on some kinds of metallic wires. The characteristics of CNT for field-emission cathodes were measured in different metallic wires under 10-6pa pressure. The field- emission characteristics of CNT grown on every metallic wire was measured and comparised. The results show that the Tungsten wire on the growth of carbon nanotube field emission characteristics of the best, opening the electric field is lower than other metal wire on the cathode, and the launch of the current density is stronger than other metal wire on the emission of carbon nanotubes.
