Abstract:
Using Silane coupling agent of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APS) as the modifier of nano-silica, the monodisperse nano-silica particles with active groups on their surfaces are prepared. The particle size distribution, surface chemical structure, shape and particles dispersibility, and load rate are characterized by laser particle size analyzer(LPSA), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM), respectively. Experiments show that the particles are dispersed state singly and contained a large number of APS functional groups. While the volume ratio of modifier APS to Tetraethyl orthosilioate (TEOS) is ranging from 0.04 to 0.22, the average size of particle is reduced and the load is increased gradually with increasing modifier.
