Abstract:
The genus Ptygonotus Tarbinsky from China is reviewed, with 12 species recorded. Two new species, Ptygonotus rangkoueusis sp.nov. and Ptygonotus anurous sp.nov. are described. Key to species of Ptygonotus is provided. Type specimens are kept in the Institute of Zoology, Shaanxi Normal University.1. Ptygonotus rangkouensis sp.nov. (Fig 1: a—f).This new species is allied to Ptygonotus hocashanensis Cheng et Hang, 1974 and Ptygonotus xinglongshanensis Zheng et al, 1994, but differs from both in: 1) the length of a segment in middle part of antennae about 1.5 times its width; 2) the maximum width between lateral keels of pronotum 1.25 times its minimum width; 3) length of elytra 5 times its width; 4) subgenital plate of male long conical, top acute; 5) hind tibia yellow brown. It differs from the former by the length of vertex as long as horizontal diameter of eye. It also differs from the latter by the lateral keels of pronotum slightly curved in prozona.
