Abstract:
Based on the gravity center method, the center-of-gravity changes of domestic tourism flow and income in China and seven regions from 1995 to 2006 were analyzed. It showed that the center-of-gravity of domestic tourism income presented “northwest-north-southeast-northwest” tendency and moved to the north as a whole. The domestic tourism income gap between northern and southern China was reduced obviously. The center-of-gravity of domestic tourism flow presented “southwest-west” tendency, and the southwest region became the sub-growth pole of domestic tourism. The difference of domestic tourism flow between eastern and western China was reduced gradually. The position and changes of the domestic tourism income and flow were inconsistency, and the center-of-gravity of domestic tourism income located more easterly than that of domestic tourism flow as a whole. The center-of-gravity of domestic tourism flow and income of seven regions changed spatially and temporally. The development of domestic tourism in different regions was quite unbalanced, and showed the staggered development among provinces.
