Abstract:
The structure of the employed population and its spatial distribution respectively reflect the regional economic and spatial structures. Shaanxi province is selected to study the industrial and occupational structure and spatial distribution using principle components analysis and cluster analysis. There are four main factors that reflect the economic development of Shaanxi province, including productive service industry, general service industry, manufacturing and architecture industry and excavation industry. Then economic structure and spatial structures are studied. The results showed that the economic structures present four structure modes, including discontinuous concentric circles, continuous concentric circles, mixed concentric circles and jump concentric circles. The spatial structures is obviously different, this area is lack of secondary core cities, doesn't have the significant core-external structure, and it is also weak in the core function. Considering its incompact city structure and the unclear development style, we conclude that this area haven't strong leading role of radiation, and it is also far to form a succession of city. Therefore, measures about regulating economic development and spatial structures are proposed.
