Abstract:
The characterization of the curved liquid surface is described by the boundary light reflected from the sunk curved liquid surface. When a collimated laser beam illumines the sunk curved liquid surface of the wetting columned glass tube, the special reflective patterns can be produced. The radius of the pattern increases with that of the incident beam. The characterization of curved liquid surface is investigated by measuring the radius of the pattern and the incident beam. As a result, the analytic expression of the profile of the curved liquid surface is given, the contact angle and the maximal height of the liquid surface in the experiment are measured by the boundary light reflected from the curved liquid surface.
