Abstract:
A new solid phase extraction followed by high performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of benzo(a)-pyrene in water was developed. Benzo(a)-pyrene was enriched by solid phase extraction with C18 cartridge before analysis, the analyte was separated on a YWC-CH column(150×4.6mm, 5μm) by gradient elution with acetonitrile as mobile phase and detected with fluorescence spectrometer. The linear range is 1.0×10-16~5.0×10-12 g/mL. The relative standard deviation of 6 times determinations(c=3.0×10-13 g/mL) is less than 2 %. The method has been applied to the determination of ultra-trace amount of benzo(a)-pyrene in water samples, the recovery ranges from 97% to 108 %.
