Abstract:
As the results of major national conditions and national strength surveys, economic census data are characterized by authority, comprehensiveness, multi-scale and periodicity. In order to promote the utilization of traditional socio-economic statistics data sources in Geography and to promote effective link among multi-source data under the background of big data, the literatures which study is the application of economic census data in the human-earth relationship were analyzed. The main fields and logic framework of application were summarized, the data extension path and multi-dimensional framework of economic data application in spatial and temporal dimension were put forward on the basis of analyzing the characteristics of the economic census data. The results show that there are significant spatial and scale differences in the availability of economic census data in China and the application of economic census data is not sufficient in Geography. The indicators are mainly employment, enterprise and energy. The application fields can be summarized into five aspects which are city, industry, employment, carbon emission and land use. The application path is mainly divided into two parts: one is to study urban space by constructing employment space and industrial space; the other is to analyze the coupling relationship of elements in urban or regional development by linking economic census data with population data, land use data and other data .Based on the characteristics of economic census data and the research paradigm of human-earth relationship, a multi-dimensional application framework was proposed in aspects of time-space comparison, spatial pattern, element synthesis and data expansion, which is “time-space-element-data”. The expansion of economic census data is expected to solve the problems of “statistical data dilemma” and the convergence between big data and statistical data, providing data support for promoting the precision of research scale and the integration of research fields.
