Abstract:
Weathering is one of the commonest serious disease in ancient earthen sites in Northwest China, the violent wind erosion caused many ancient earthen sites collapsed. In order to evaluate weathering resistance of the remoded soil in situ cross-linking reinforced with TEOS,the shear strength and wind erosion simulation tests were carried out. The experimental results show that TEOS can effectively improve the shear strength of remolded soil samples.Compared with the unreinforced remolded soil samples, the cohesive strength of the reinforced remolded soil samples increased by 27%, and the internal friction angle of reinforced remolded soil samples increased by 135%. The wind erosion tests of the reinforced and the unreinforced remolded soil samples at different wind speeds and different blowout times showed that the wind erosion amount of the unreinforced and remolded soil samples increased with the prolongation of the time of erosion under the same wind speed, and the rate of increase of the wind erosion amount of the unreinforced remolded soil samples is greater than that of the reinforced remolded soil samples. All results mentioned above showed that TEOS in situ crosslinking reinforced remolded soil samples had obvious wind erosion resistance.
