Abstract:
The purpose of the experiment is to predict the growth and development of Chinese giant salamander, Andrias davidianus, and guide the breeding of Chinese giant salamander. Six measurements of body weight and 10 morphological traits were performed in Chinese giant salamander during 1~5 years old. The weight and morphological traits of Chinese giant salamander were analyzed, and the growth model of Chinese giant salamander was constructed and screened, the linear regression equation of age and main morphological traits of Chinese giant salamander was obtained. The results showed that correlation coefficients between morphological traits and body weight the order is head width, head length, tail width, tail height, length of foreleg, length of hind leg, total length, tail length, space between axilla and groin, body height of Chinese giant salamander. Those morphological traits can be used as an important indicators of the breeding of Chinese giant salamander. Logistic model is the best growth model in three kinds of growth model for Chinese giant salamander: Wt=4.449/(1+4 689.334e-0.19t). The linear regression equation of months of age and main morphological traits of Chinese giant salamander is M=-3.332+0.847T1+0.424T2-0.418S+3.259H-6.745T3. The equation can be used as a method to identify the age of Chinese giant salamander.
