Tourism growth fluctuation and its driving factors of Chinese world cultural heritages:

Abstract:
Taking three Chinese world cultural heritages, such as Pingyao, Qufu and Chengde, as examples, using nonlinear growth theory and 2nd curve theory, the characteristics and rules of the life cycles for three heritage scenic spots were compared vertically and horizontally from the aspects of passenger flows and tourism income, and the driving factors are also analyzed. Combined with the external factors of policies and events, the internal factors of innovation and development, it found that the replacement of life cycles and growth fluctuation for historical cultural heritages mainly affected by emergencies and celebration events, policies and rules of government and product innovations of scenic spots. It indicated that the innovation would be the key factor which promoting life cycle development and stimulating new cycles coming of the historic heritages.
