This research reported a new method about direct deeding and breeding of Bletilla striata which includes measure the seed vigor, settle seedling bed, prepare the seeding substrate, dispose of the seeds, sowing, cultivating seedings and strong seedlings. The research established “The direct seeding and breeding method of B. striata in farmland”, prepared substrate consisted of bark meal, humus, nutrient soil, manure and peat with the volume ratio of 15∶20∶8∶1∶5. Keeping air temperature of 20~35 ℃, humidity of 60 to 80%, spraying different nutrient solution in different stages of seed germination regularly, the seed germination rate increased from 5% to 69.7±3.13%. The false bulb diameter was 1~1.5 cm after breeding 180 d. This new method is simple and the seedling emergence is fast, which overcomes the difficulty of germination under natural conditions due to small seeds and no endosperm. It is suitable for large-scale cultivation of Bletilla striatain the Qin-ba Mountain areas.
