Abstract:
Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) was synthesized via the chemical oxidizing process by using sodium dodecyl sulfate as the surfactant and iron trichloride at the oxidant. The product was analyzed by a series of methods. The effects of reaction temperature, oxidant adding way, and the amount of surfactant on the yield and conductivity of PEDOT were studied. The conductivity and yield of the PEDOT in 24 h were as high as 100.2 S/cm and 72.14%, respectivey, when the mole ratio of sodium dodecyl sulfate to 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene was 0.25, the oxidant was dropped to the reaction system in 2 h under 50 ℃.
