Abstract:
The flavonoids were extracted from dried persimmon (Diospyros kaki L. f) leaves with 75% ethanol and preliminarily purified with macroporous resin. The protective effect of persimmon leaves total flavonoids(PLTF) against carbon tetrachloride-induced (CCl4) on acute liver injury in rats of was investigated. The results showed that PLTF obviously reduced the liver damage, significantly decreased the AST and ALT levels in serum, remarkably lowered the liver indexes and MDA level, and elevated the SOD and CAT levels in hepatic tissues. These results indicate that PLTF has a protective effect against CCl4-induced acute hepatotoxicity in rats, and the hepatoprotective effects may be due to both the inhibition of lipid peroxidation and the increase of antioxidant activity.
