Abstract:
The Grain for Green Project is one of the most import engineering program for the environmental protection and ecological improvement in China.Cinnamomum longepaniculatum is one of the most native tree species planted in Yibin city, Sichuan province, which has significant economic and ecological benefits. To analyze the affecting factors in the selection of tree species for the Grain for Green Project, some townships in Cuiping district, Yibin city, Sichuan province were chosen to be the case study for the digitalized analysis of the area and spatial distribution with ArcGIS. The following results are obtained.Cinnamomum longepaniculatum is the most important tree species in the Grain for Green Project, with the largest proportion and obvious concentration characteristics.Especially, it is the most largely distributed one in the original area of Cinnamomum longepaniculatum forestry, and the closer the new Cinnamomum longepaniculatum forest is to the original one, the higher ratio of the Cinnamomum longepaniculatum is to other tree species in the Grain for Green Project. These spatial distribution characteristics indicate that natural environment limits the planting of Cinnamomum longepaniculatum, while the government guidance and the demonstration for the original famers play a key role. There are some problems limiting the development of Cinnamomum longepaniculatum industry, and the local governments should pay more attention to these issues.
