Abstract:
Members of the genus Teleogryllus are common cricket species to damage crops, some of them serve as model animals in behavioral and neurobiological studies. The Chinese species of the genus were revised and redescribed in the article. Morphological variation between Teleogryllus emma (Ohmachi & Matsuura) and Teleogryllus occipitalis (Serville) was discussed. The status and validity of three species names, Gryllus mitratus, Gryllus testaceus and Teleogryllus occipitalis, in this genus were addressed. Finally, the new distribution for the exotic Australia species Teleogryllus commodus (Walker) extending to Shanghai, China, was reported.
