Abstract:
Using the theory of plasmon hybridization, Fano resonances of silica-silver-silica-gold multilayer nanoshells are revealed. Based on the finite element method, the extinction properties of silica-silver-silica-gold multilayer nanoshells are investigated systematically. The results indicate that the symmetric multilayer nanoshells can achieve Fano resonance. The Fano resonances of silica-silver-silica-gold multilayer nanoshells are induced by dipole-dipole hybridization of the inner nanoshell and the outer nanoshell. By selecting the suitable geometric parameters, the position of the Fano resonance can be tuned between 600 and 900 nm.
