Anti-counterfeiting a special metal material using ultrasonicbackscatter attenuation coefficient spectrum

Abstract:
Three kinds of metal materials with similar performance are taken for example in this work, extraction of 10 MHz ultrasonic backscatter signal in the material, and intercepting time domain signal between adjacent two segments in a certain depth of the material after smoothing the signal, and then, employing Fourier transform to get the corresponding amplitude spectrum and attenuation coefficient spectrum, on this basis, calculation of the attenuation spectrum correlation between that of every test specimen and that of the standard test specimen are carried out.It shows that the different metal materials can be distiguished by using the correlation coefficients of attenuation coefficient spectrum.
