Abstract:
50 SD female rats were divided in to 5 groups in a random way, continusly treated with papaya for 12 week, and the Rat Collagen Ⅰ(ColⅠ), Cathepsin L(Cath L), procollagen INterminal propeptide (PINP), carboxyterminal telopeptide of typeⅠcollagen (ICTP) and morphology were determined. The following results obtained. The rats in group of papaya and group of estrogen obviously increased in number of bony trabecule , decreased in the Cath L expression. There were no difference between group of papaya with high does and group of estrogen (P>0.05),and it was more effective in high dose group. The results imply that the high does papaya can be able to decrease the Cath L expression of osteoclast, consequently inhibited the dissolve of Col Ⅰ, result in protection of bone and antiosteoporosis
