Abstract:
To investigate the effects of Notopterygium water extract and 75% ethanol extract on mice diarrhoea,Notopterygium aqueous extract with high and low dose (5,15 g / kg), and 75% ethanol extract with high and low dose (5,15 g / kg), were used respectively to treat diarrhoeal mice induced by Folium Sennae, castor oil and magnesium sulphate through gavage. The frequency of diarrhea and ink advance rate of small intestine before and after gavage were recorded to compare the antidiarrheal effects of different Notopterygium extract. The following results obtained.Comparing with the modle groups of senna, castor oil and magnesium sulfate, the lowdose group of Notopterygium alcohol extract has significant difference in 1 h, 4 h,1~8 h and 3 h, and the highdose group has very significant difference in 1 h ,1~8 h ,2~3 h.The highdose group of Notopterygium aqueous extract has significant difference in 1~3 h ,1~8 h,3 h, and only senna and castor oil diarrhea model group has significant difference in 1~2 h,1~8 h with the lowdose group, and there are no significant differences in the magnesium sulfate diarrhea model group. Therefore, the effect of Notopterygium ethanol extract and water extract are significant mainly in exudative diarrhea antidiarrheal, and the effect of aqueous extract of antidiarrhea is significantly stronger than that of the alcohol extract.Additioually,Notopterygium has no significant effect in antidiarrheal caused by small bowel disorders.
