Abstract:
In terms of developing highly efficient multiple metallic composite energetic catalysts in molecular level, six novel heteronuclear Pb/Cu salts of p-nitrocalix\[n\]arenes(n=4, 6, 8) were prepared and characterized by FT-IR and elemental analysis. Their thermal stability was determined by TG-DSC techniques and found that these salts show good thermal stability (> 171 ℃). Additionally, their combustion catalytic activities for thermal decomposition of main components of solid propellant were evaluated by DSC method. The following results were obtained. When 5% prepared catalysts in weight was added in pure RDX, HMX or NC/NG, all heteronuclear metal salts could lower the decomposition temperature peaks of RDX, HMX, and NC/NG. Moreover, all metal salts could enhance the exothermic reaction of RDX and NC/NG.The salt C6-1∶2 and C8-1∶1 make NC/NG and RDX exothermic energy increase 11 times and 1.75 times, respectivery, indicating that all metal salts display significant combustion catalytic activities for thermal decomposition of three energetic materials.
