Abstract:
Asymptotic properties of some mean values of the error term of the D.H.Lehmer problem are discussed. For an odd integer q≥5, several asymptotic formulas for the mean value of the error term of D.H.Lehmer problem over double quarter intervals are obtained by using the analytic methods and some important properties of character sums.Some relations between the parameter and the mean value of the error term of the D.H.Lehmer problem over other two intervals are also studied, and the cancellation phenomenon of the error term of D.H.Lehmer problem is further revealed.
