Abstract:
Based on the data of the questionnaire survey, using map analysis and social network analysis method, the geographical distribution and spatial diffusion rules of the inbound tourist flows from Guangzhou city were analyzed. The results show that: (1) Most inbound tourists of Guangzhou are businessmen, and tourists who just visit one city and choose the same entry-exit city had a higher proportion. (2) The inbound tourist flows of Guangzhou distributed in a small range, which centralized in the developed regions, such as the Pan-Pearl River Delta region and the Yangtze River Delta region. The flows in the eastern region are more than that in the western region, and the southern area has more tourist flows than the northern area. (3) The diffusion capacity of inbound tourist flows of Guangzhou is weak. The diffusion intensity of the tourist flows is uneven among different tourist destinations and has an obvious tendency of centralization. The main diffusion locations are the hot tourist cities with rich tourism resources and convenient transportation. (4) The inbound tourist flows network of Guangzhou is a typical “core-periphery” network which offers a simple massive structure and an obvious tendency of centralization. There are 15 core members in the network, including Guangzhou, Guilin, Beijing and so on, which have a weak radiation effect on the periphery members.
