Abstract:
Based on 6 categories of major carbon sources including chemical fertilizer, pesticide, agricultural film, plowing, sowing and the total power of agricultural machinery, the carbon emissions of agricultural investment activities in Shaanxi province from 1990 to 2012 were calculated, and its relation with economic development was analyze by using Tapio decoupling elastic model. Results showed that carbon emissions and carbon emission intensity of agricultural investment activities of Shaanxi province in 2012 were 2.518 5 million tons and 879.29 kg/hm2 with the average annual growth rates of 9.7% and 13.07% over 1990, respectively. In spatial, the regional difference was distinct and the carbon emissions of the agricultural investment activities performed that southern Shaanxi province >northern Shaanxi province >central Shaanxi province, whereas, the carbon emission intensity of the agricultural investment activities showed the characteristic of central Shaanxi province >southern Shaanxi province >northern Shaanxi province. It appeared negative decoupling relationship between the overall carbon emissions of agricultural investment activities and the economic development of agriculture. It was strong decoupling or weak decoupling in northern Shaanxi province, and mainly negative decoupling and weak decoupling in central Shaanxi province, and weak decoupling in southern Shaanxi province with a increasing trend of weak decoupling.
