Abstract:
Taking 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) in China as the research unit, Theil index, spatial autocorrelation and spatial Dubin model are used to study the spatial agglomeration pattern of cultural industry in 2010-2019, and to reveal the influencing factors and spillover effects of cultural industry spatial agglomeration. The results show that: (1) From the perspective of regional differences, the differences in the agglomeration level of Chinas cultural industries in 2010-2019 mainly come from intra-regional differences, which means that there are likely to be core provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) within the three major regions in the east, middle, and west, forming a “core-periphery” structure.(2) From the perspective of spatial distribution, the stability of the agglomeration level of the cultural industry reaches 51.61%, of which the stability of the spatial agglomeration level of the art performance industry was the highest, followed by the animation industry, and the stability of the spatial agglomeration level of the entertainment industry was the lowest. (3) The spatial spillover effect of the cultural industry and various industries are quite different, among which the spatial spillover effect of the entertainment industry agglomeration is the most significant, followed by the art performance industry. (4) Scientific and technological factors can promote the development of cultural industry in the province, and also drive the development of cultural industries in neighboring provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), especially for the animation industry; the influence of human capital on the spatial agglomeration of entertainment industry in neighboring provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) is stronger than that of art performance industry and animation industry; the living standard of urban residents plays a stronger role in promoting the art performance of the province than other two industries, and a stronger effect on the art performance industry in neighboring provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) than the other two industries.
