Abstract:
Based on the cross-sectional data of Zhangjiajie, a typical tourist city, during 1996-2016, the coupled coordination model was used to explore the level of coupled coordination between its tourism industry development and land use structure and the evolution pattern, and to find its association with the life cycle of tourist land. The results show that the coupling and coordination characteristics of tourism industry development and land use structure in Zhangjiajie are obvious, and the development of the relationship between the two has gone through three stages: the dysfunctional period, the primary coordination period, and the coordination period, and finally reached the high-quality coordination state. The level of coupling and coordination between tourism industry development and land use structure in Zhangjiajie corresponds to the stage of tourism destination life cycle, and the growth rate of coupling and coordination degree is consistent with the speed of life cycle evolution of tourism destination. The study of the correlation between the two can provide scientific and quantitative technical indicators for the analysis of the stage of tourism destination life cycle, and enrich and expand the theoretical system of tourism destination life cycle.
