Abstract:
Taking 28 prefecture level cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2018 as the research object, and comprehensively using the super efficiency SBM model, standard deviation ellipse, center of gravity trajectory and other methods to calibrate the tourism efficiency of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River urban agglomeration, and characterize its temporal and spatial evolution characteristics. Furthermore, the panel VAR model was adopted to explore the two-way dynamic relationship between tourism efficiency and ecological environment. Results indicate that the tourism efficiency of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River from 2008 to 2018 was at a low level, presenting a downward trend in fluctuation. In terms of spatial evolution, the trajectory of the efficiency center of gravity roughly illustrates an inverted “V” shape, and moves to the southeast as a whole. From 2008 to 2018, the ecological environment level of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River shows a downward trend. From the perspective of spatial structure, the ecological environment level of urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River shows a spatial distribution pattern of “Poyang Lake urban agglomerations>Chang Zhu Tan urban agglomerations>Wuhan urban circle”.Both tourism efficiency and ecological environment have self-enhancement mechanisms. Ecological environment exerts a converging and hindering impact on the development of tourism efficiency, tourism efficiency has a divergent promoting effect on the construction of ecological environment, and ecological environment exhibits a greater effect on the change of tourism efficiency.
