Abstract:
Western metaphysics showed different tendencies in its phases of development, but essentially speaking, metaphysics presented some regular form of expression in the general curve of its development. In the early days of establishment, metaphysics showed the characteristic of “uplifting”, by which metaphysical evolvement logic was completed by “abstracting” the concept and “uplifting” the logic. Under the historical circumstances of realistic elements and spiritual situations, since the tendency of “uplifting” was restricted in direction, metaphysics gradually shifted its emphasis down on the process, hence the realistic possibility of “downshifting”. As a result, the evolutionary tendency and emphasis of western metaphysics tends daily to concern life, historical and limited realistic elements.
