Abstract:
One of the leading representatives of German classical philosophy, Scheling started early to ponder over the problems in the philosophic system established by Hegel and Fichte and their relation with practical philosophy, including ethics. Scheling was important not because he wanted to introduce an ethic system of moral norms and obligations in practice but because he existentially related ethic issues with survival and realized a breaking away from existentialism of speculative philosophy through his ethic consideration. This breaking heritage really extended the moral of Kant’s subjective lawmaking criteria to the world of ethical life. And the problem set by Sheling’s theory cannot be solved unless our consideration on ethic issues must go beyond the subject’s inner moral discipline and move up to the existential realm by rewriting modern subjective philosophy.
