Abstract:
The political/cultural space in 1970s’ China provided the necessity of the revolutionary literature that was represented by the novels Blinking Red Star, Militiawomen in the Island, and Heroes in the Tongbai Mountains, a conclusion based on a deep understanding of the artistic charm in the time with the help of views of folk culture and the theories of archetype, structuralism, and cultural anthropology. These novels were deeply rooted in the national culture, motivated by the revolutionary consciousness, revolutionary spirit and revolutionary passion of the people, and actively merged themselves with the mainstream ideology, shouldered the responsibility indomitably for the time and history. Although not perfect, they are respectable as the spiritual resources of cultivating generations Chinese people.
