For the origin and composition of Onevolume Deleted and Amended Edition of Collected Highlights and Interpretations of the Book of Changes, Nalan Chengde mistook it in his preface for The Collected Highlights of the Book of Changes by Chen Youwen. This mistake has continued till today because of the copying of the mistake by Li Yizun and the official authors of The Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature. As a matter of fact, however, it was The Collected Highlights of the Book of Changes by Wei Liaowong, based on which The Collected Interpretations of the Book of Changes was edited. These two books were combined into Onevolume Deleted and Amended Edition of Collected Highlights and Interpretations of the Book of Changes by the anonymous authors trusted by Nalan Chengda. As a result, the scholars in the Qing Dynasty made only limited contributions in comparison to the collective and interpretive results made by the scholars in the Song Dynasty.
