Abstract:
The land of what is called Shaanxi in modern times had an extraordinarily special association with The Book of Songs as an ancient Chinese classic in time of the Zhou Dynasty. The Book of Songs contained 30 folk poems, 101 elevated poems and 162 extolling poems concerning Shaanxi in the Zhou Dynasty. These poems were valuable and significant not only by their great number but more by their rich and deep thought, outstanding and superb artistic accomplishments and multiple inclusive cultural characteristics. In this sense, Shaanxi poems in the Zhou Dynasty took a bigger percentage of all poems in The Book of Songs and made the main body of the book. All this was closely related with the special place of the current Shaanxi and the Zhou civilization as an advanced civilization in the day. Moreover, Shaanxi poems in times of the Zhou Dynasty exhibited the spiritual features of the popular Zhou civilization as a regional civilization of Shaanxi to influence the whole country.
