Abstract:
Zi Lu took an important place in Confucian School and was frequently mentioned in The Analects of Confucius. However, owing to the distinctive character of The Analects of Confucius, the record of Zi Lu lacks a prominent order of time. Thus it is necessary to make a study of Zi Lu. An analysis of historical materials concerning Zi Lu by a temporal sequencing to shape the track of Zi Lu’s growth prominently characteristic of different stages comes to the conclusion that development of Zi Lu’s mind, character and learning went through different stages. He started as an impatient, emulative and immature young man but turned into a considerate, patient, prudent and well-bred statesman in conform to Confucian criteria.
