Abstract:
In the late Qing Dynasty, prices of northern crops such as wheat, broomcorn and black soya bean in Henan went through great changes. The prices of crops tended to be rising for a long time and waves of rise became greater and greater in the late period. Even worse, differences between the wholesome prices of wheat flour and rice and coarse food grain were greater and greater and prices of crops differed between areas. All these were closed connected with good and bad agricultural harvests, farmers’ economic behaviours and geographical advantages.
