Abstract:
A magnificent stage carrying Eastern and Western cultures and trade, the Silk Road is the crystallization of blend and conflict of the Silk-Road civilizations. On the list of the joint application for the World Cultural Heritage submitted by China and other five countries in mid-Asia are 48 heritage places in China. Located in a place never to miss of the northern passage of the eastern part of the Silk Road, Ningxia has four heritage places selected on the list, including the ancient town of Guyuan, the rock cave in Mount Xumi, the tombs of the Northern Dynasies and the Sui and the Tang Dynasty in Guyuan and the relics of Kaicheng. The historical records and archeological results reproduce Guyuan's close relation to the Silk Road and important place in history. Meanwhile, the relics of the Silk Road also offer even greater space for influence of tourist culture.
