Abstract:
For a long time, people’s understanding of culture has been dominated by the conception that culture merely as ideology is a soft aim of no practical use. This conception has been affecting the development of cultural cause and construction of civic morality and social creditability in our country. With the deep development of global economy and coming of consumption age, however, the flourishing of cultural industry and release of cultural productivity have demonstrated a more and more prominent function of culture in the intense competition of comprehensive national strength. The view that “culture is also productivity” is put forward to respond to the demand of epochal advancement and reveal the obligatory implications of cultural itself. “Culture as productivity” is actualized partly by turning culture directly into productivity in form of industrialization and partly by transforming culture indirectly into productivity by means of raising additional value of commodity. In a word, a proper understanding of the place of culture as productivity will certainly promote enormous development and prosperity of our culture.
