Abstract:
Qin Zhaoyang was the outstanding representative of the first generation of literary editors of new China. The chief editor of People’s Literature, he wrote a letter to Shao Quanlin, the secretary of the Party Organization of Chinese Writers Association, which prove to be the key reason for his to be labeled as one of the rightists in 1958. Then, as the chief editor of Today, he rejected The September Fables written by Zhang Wei at the final revision, which was serious and intriguing. On dying Qin Zhaoyang seriously pointed out the subjective values and leading theoretical dilemmas of his generation as editors. All these offer the key points in Qin’s studies. Thus it is believed that a structural study of the editor Qin Zhaoyang should be conducted around Books.Men.Me.
