Abstract:
Classified as a branch of humanities study, mythology belongs to the field of folk literature in our country. In contrast, however, it gained leapfrog development abroad during the 20th century and has become a frontier to thoroughly explore such field of humanities and social sciences as literature, history and philosophy and politics, religion, psychology. This paper emphasizes mythology’s breakthrough beyond literature and words and its function of such, namely, its probability to be included in study of macrotraditional culture text. Moreover, it offers comments on the four patterns of interdisciplinary studies and academic hints about intersection and fusion between mythology and archaeology, history of art, cultural dissemination and studies of physical and ideological cultures. The paper aims to show the significance of intellectual innovation mythological study has brought to the traditional format of literary study in problematic awareness and capability of solving problems.
