The sound disease theory introduced by the Yongming School was originated from the Yuefu poetry in the Jin and the Song Dynasty. It is a recent view that has occurred in the study of shaping of the Yongming Style that the songs of Wu and Xi had a relatively great influence on shaping of the rhyme scheme of Yongming poetry. However, this new view has obtained neither theoretical proof of parallel relationship between temperament and poetic scheme nor support of analytic data of poetic scheme. According to some reliable sources, the proportions of Yongmingregulated verse lines and doublets in the song of Wu and Xi in times of the Jin and the Song Dynasty never overtake those in fivecharacter regulated poems. This shows that the authors of those melodic words had had little sense of Yongming poetic scheme yet. Therefore, the view agrees neither with poetic history nor with logic that the poetic scheme of Yongming style took shape out of inspiration of the songs of Wu and Xi.
