Abstract:
Always posing himself as a Confucianist, Su Shunqin took Confucianism as the basis of his conduct. He emphasized moral accomplishment, maintained a straightforward, persistent and faithful personality and regarded helping out the needy as his lifetime responsibility. A firm follower of Confucianism as he was, he remained basically beyond Buddhist influence.
