Abstract:
Mao Zedong expressed his cultural self-consciousness by his own cultural practice and cultural thought. These can be summarized in four ways, that is, his participation in cultural practice in his early days, his accurate control of characteristics of cultural concepts, his efficient application of cultural function, and his active promotion of cultural construction. His cultural self-consciousness played a significant role in promoting the deep-seated modernization of the Chinese nation, namely, modernization of Chinese culture, and realized cultural self-consciousness of the whole nation. Thus, it is of great significance of the times to enhance the development and prosperity of socialist culture to systematically retrospect Mao Zedong’s cultural consciousness.
