Abstract:
Shu Wu was a pivotal figure in Hu Feng case in 1955, whose unusual performance at the critical moment of the case has remained a focal topic in Chinese academic world. Shu got in contact with Hu Feng when he published the paper On Subjectivity in Hop, but he turned his coat in the movement against Hu. During that phase of time he experienced an extremely complicated process in shaping and changing his mind. Nowadays, a relatively meticulous psychological exploration and description of the process of his mental struggle are of great importance to our effort to scrutinize this period of history and understand and reflect the mental state of intellectuals in preandpostliberation days.
