Abstract:
A university’s level and degree of development depends on its academic freedom. Academic freedom is the leading aim of the university’s development and an important means to promote such development. Partial emphasis on enlargement of the university’s scale, transformation of its structure, improvement of social profits, scientization of administrative means and modernization of teaching facilities as standards of evaluating the university’s development results merely from ignorance of effects of academic freedom as the supreme standard on the university’s development. In fact, in terms of the history and essence of the university’s development, a university cannot hope to develop without academic freedom. In this sense, the university’s development stands for steady development of academic freedom.
