Abstract:
Maids were an important part of the population in the western states in the Tang Dynasty, including miscellaneous trades and races, such as elders, hands, middleaged, youngsters and the yellow. There were great numbers of Hun maids, including Turk maids, in the society of the western states, who entered into families in western states mainly by reward for military credits and slave trade. Those Hun maids were inferior in Chinese families, doing farming work in addition to housekeeping drudgery.
