Abstract:
Disciplinary innovation and degree authorization are two arduous and basic tasks in disciplinary construction of higher learning institutions. The disciplinary construction as one of the “leading projects” cannot be well implemented unless disciplinary innovation and degree authorization are brought into solid practice to offer a necessary basis for training highlevel talents under the energetic mechanism of “schoolrunning autonomy”. With academic freedon being its prenequisite, academic inmovation calls for a fine academic ecology, one of whose essential elements is to establish a reasonable arrangemant of disciplines. Moreover, lack of the autonomy of degreeauthorized institutions should be compensated for; the “lowestdemand” for applying for disciplinary departments and the“actual quota” to be obtuined by higherlearning institutions should be clearly delivered so as to complete the procedure of appraisal; and administration of postgraduate education should be scrutinized to readjust defects in postgraduate training.
